Energy efficiency is a critical way for people to conserve energy, reduce their demand on energy resources, and lower greenhouse gas emissions. While debate still rages about the causes of climate change, you can't argue that cutting the amount of energy pool owners use around the home and pool is one of the quickest, simplest and most cost-effective ways to reduce emissions.
One particular product that's receiving rave review for its environmental credentials is Waterco's MultiCyclone device, which recently won the DesignMaster Green Award at India's WAVES International Pool, Spa and Bath Expo.
Held last August in New Delhi, WAVES is the country's first face-to-face platform to unite the billion-dollar global ‘wet wellness' market.
"MultiCyclone is an extremely well designed product that very much lives up to its environmental credentials," says Bryan Goh, Waterco's group marketing director. "And awards such as these vindicate our decision to produce this revolutionary technology."
The annual WAVES DesignMaster Awards was created for industries and professionals to set benchmarks, encourage excellence and give a boost to innovators. It aims to stimulate the design and implementation of attractive wet wellness projects while expanding industry exposure to the public in a positive manner.
"The aim of the Awards is to honour companies and individuals having distinguished themselves through their work and professional practice by the quality of services rendered to humanity.
"By recognising and rewarding the advances made in the swimming pool, luxury bathroom and spa industry, WAVES hopes it not only showcases India's outstanding talent to the international public but also encourages others to emulate the great work achieved by the winners and finalists," explains Sonny Sharma, Editor-in-chief of WAVES Magazine.
With a construction industry estimated to be well over USD $50 billion, India is considered the world's fastest growing swimming pool and spa market.
Multicyclone in a nutshell
The Green Product Award is one of nine awards won by the MultiCyclone since the technology was launched in 2008. Constructed with no moving parts and no filter media to clean or replace, MultiCyclone has set new benchmarks in sustainability and has been used in projects as diverse as domestic swimming pools, koi ponds, cooling towers, car wash water recycling plants, aquaculture facilities, resort pools, and zoo wetland areas
